Are you trying to stay healthy and have a healthy diet? Me too, thankfully I discovered these two apps to help make the journey a little easier. Both apps are free and available on IOS and Android. Both apps help make you feel more accountable without having to obsess over the number of steps you’re walking and counting calories all day long.
I use two apps to help me, one to measure my calorie intake and another one to keep track of how much weight I’ve lost during my lifestyle change.
Bonus: I also use my fitness watch to track my steps and the number of calories I’ve burned off. This isn’t a regular thing though, because sometimes I’d like to be free from wearing it. I like taking a break from having so much technology on me. I do use my watch often especially when I go to walk my dog. I use it to measure how long our walk is and how long we should be out. I like to walk my dog for about 30 minutes daily.
The app that comes along with my fitness watch also has a chart that shows the number of steps I take during days, weeks, and months. The only thing is I have to remember to sync it with my watch because of both items connect through Bluetooth and the internet. Besides that it also keeps track of my average heart rate, resting heart rate, highest heart rate, and the number of calories I burn during each day.
MyPlate is the app I use to measure my daily calorie intake. The app is completely free on IOS and Android. There is a paid version, but I don’t see the need to purchase it. I like to add the food I eat throughout the day to make sure I’m eating enough, but not consuming too much.
The app really helps put into perspective what is a normal portion and what isn’t. The app also lets you decide how much weight you would like to lose per week ranging from 0.5lbs-1.5lbs and then it tells you what your daily calorie intake should be which is 1800 calories, 1500 calories, and 1200 calories.
I just started using this app last week and I’ve really liked it so far. Especially since seeing how home-cooked food can be EXTREMELY bad for you. For instance, we had a huge breakfast which consisted of easy eggs, flour tortillas,
Whereas the second app I use is HappyScale which I use to input my current weight once a week. I like using this app because it also records the date and time of when I input my current weight. Along with that, it has a little chart with how much weight you’ve lost. I like seeing the little chart. There is also a feature where you can add how much weight you’d like to lose by a certain time (A weight goal essentially).
I’ve been using the app HappyScale since October 2018 and I’ve made great progress since starting in January. I have almost reached my goal and won’t share it until it’s official. Just know I’ve lost about 6lbs to date and it feels great.
You can do it, just try harder the next day. Stay committed.
