REVIEW: Bare & Free Beauty CC Serum

First off let’s talk about the brand Bare & Free Beauty! This skincare brand prides themselves in being 100% vegan and cruelty free, if you haven’t tried it yet what are you waiting for?! It would be a great introduction for you if you’ve never tried vegan and cruelty free products before.

About the brand:

Started by Alanna, a vegan herself created the skincare line when she was deciding what skincare products she should use now that she’s vegan. The brand’s story is described as, “Here at Bare & Free Beauty™ we are 100% vegan. We pride ourselves by knowing our products aren’t bringing any unnecessary harm to our fellow earthlings. Since we’re vegan, we’re obviously cruelty free, DUH! In addition to that, our products never contain any sulfates, parabens, silicones, gluten and talc. Did we mention we are carcinogen free and Eco friendly? You’re welcome!”

Do you currently use a CC serum? If not well, you should totally check this one out! To be honest, I wasn’t using a serum before receiving this product. I wasn’t using a serum because they’re so PRICEY!!!!! I’m also trying to use up all of my beauty products as I mention in an earlier post which you can read here. This serum has been a great introduction as to what to expect for future serums. I’ve never used a serum for skincare, but I really enjoyed using this product as it did help my skin feel younger.

I’ve been using the product for about a month now, so I’ve tried it in various ways to test consistency and assure it fulfilled what the brand promised. According to the brand, “This anti-pollution serum works at a cellular level to help protect against harmful free radicals from UV rays and everyday pollutants, while preserving the appearance of beautiful, vibrant-looking skin. You will see dramatic results with this energy-packed serum that is infused with Citrus Stem Cells from orange, which will work to help to enhance skin elasticity.”

After a month a use I can honestly say this product does live up to the description on the website! As described you do only need 1-2 pumps of the product, it’s very long lasting. It has a citrus scent with thin, ???and elastic texture.

First Impression

As soon as I applied the product onto my face I could see a glow which was nice! My complexion was so much brighter. The product is light weight and doesn’t feel heavy after applied. There’s no after texture either, meaning it doesn’t feel sticky feel like you have something on your face. It dries fast and adds a lovely glow to your skin!

What various combinations have I tried with this CC serum?

Only used the CC Serum to experience the product without anything else and to know what to expect when applying other products on top of it later.

With moisturizer

It gave the same glow, my face just felt more protected since my moisturizer is creamier like a lotion and has SPF in it. There wasn’t anything else that was much different. The product was long lasting and didn’t feel different with the moisturizer on top. My skin was still glow-y and dewy.

With moisturizer and light & heavy makeup

I felt very protected and I did have to get used to having more products on my face since I usually just wear moisturizer and then my foundation on a daily basis. Once I started adding the CC serum my face did feel heavier, but it was nothing I couldn’t get used too. After a few days of having the CC serum, moisturize and my makeup on it didn’t feel as heavy.

I’d also like to add my face probably also felt heavy because I get up super early for work and the more tired I am the heavier my face feels as I’m working since makeup does add weight to your face.

Final Thoughts

I would definitely recommend this product for people who are looking for a CC serum. I love the glow my skin has after the CC serum has been applied. I think people with dry skin would love this product since it’s very hydrating. My face feels and looks younger since using this product.

Peep that glow from Bare and Free Beauty’s CC Serum!
