What it means to be an Entrepreneur? Featuring Paige

Have you been thinking about starting a business? Where do you start and how? What kind of business should you start?

If you answered, “yes” to any of the questions above you are in the right place! This is a great place to learn about businesses and to gain some insight as well as a different perspective from what you may have been thinking about. The answer might be simpler than you thought.

As someone who is passionate about business I wanted to learn more about entrepreneurs who are just getting started with their dreams and goals. This series will be an ongoing series where we get to know entrepreneurs a little better.

What is your Name?

Alanna Paige

Age?

31

Business?

What made you want to become an entrepreneur?

I always knew you can’t make real money working for someone else. It all starts with an idea and if it’s good enough why not devote all your time and energy for your cause?

How long did you think about being an entrepreneur?

I wanted to be an entrepreneur for as long as I can remember. I want to say it really hit me when I was 16. I would stay in the library with my boyfriend at the time and come up with names for a clothing line.

What is your business?

I have a vegan skincare company called Bare and Free Beauty! Basically I wanted to take the headache out of finding quality vegan skincare items for less.

What has been your most difficult challenge to date?

Staying consistent. When you have your own business there is no 9-5pm. You literally do everything and anything on your own. Pacing myself has been the true challenge, because I have so much to do in so little time.

What challenges do you think you will be faced with in the future?

In the future I think one of the biggest challenges would be marketing. Technology has changed everything. It hasn’t gotten hard to keep everyone’s attention when the world is moving so fast. Instant gratification and the need for constant mental stimulation will be the death of me. Lol.

What has been the most rewarding thing about being an entrepreneur?

Watching my baby come to life. You always start with an idea, but as you grow so does your business. I have tweaked so many things because I’m forever changing. It has been  amazing to watch your vision come to life.

What’s one piece of advice you’d give to an aspiring entrepreneur?

Don’t give up. Seriously, it sounds so cliché but don’t ever give up. It will be challenging. It is going to seem like it will never work but you have to keep pushing through if it’s something you truly believe in.

Any other information you’d like to include in this feature. 🙂

Lastly I can’t emphasize enough that you should love what you do. If you can pick one thing that you can invest your entire life into then that’s what you should be doing. Invest in yourself and don’t give up!
