We are almost half way done with 2018 and it has been a great year for me! Here are some of the biggest highlights of my year so far!
I dedicated more of my time to my blog with writing, and promoting more besides working harder on my blog to achieve goals. I am really hoping to do more collabs on blog posts in the future especially with brands. I plan on spending more time on learning how to make graphics for my blog and a banner.
I’ve stayed at my current job for 6 months and I am going to have a job to come back to when I go back to school in the fall. It took me a while to learn everything at my current job, but I am SUPER thankful for where I work and who I work with. My supervisors are really nice and they often feed me which I am incredibly GRATEFUL for because I am broke AF. Lol. My job is such a huge upgrade compared to my past jobs.
Everything is set for me to get my degree in December! I have all of my classes for the fall and I couldn’t be more excited. I have started looking for potential jobs for once I obtain my degree. I will walk across stage in May 2019. Lots of posts to come about my last semester at university.
My pet fish, Zuko, is still alive. He’s a Beta fish. My boyfriend and I didn’t have a successful turnout with our goldfish and glofish. 🙁 Not because it was entirely our fault, but because of what we were advised by employees at the pet store.
I started painting and keeping up with DIY’s for my apartment. Painting and creating DIY’s has been a new thing I started spending more time on to help with my mental health. I wanted to start creating again, but kept putting it off because of assignments and projects. It’s helped me relax and make some time for myself.
I followed through with donating my clothes and shoes I no longer needed. I have been meaning to do this for so long, and I’m happy I finally did it. I plan on donating more often about once every few months.
Cut back on my shopping habits and now I only go once a week to one store or once every few weeks. I only go to the mall once a month and spend less time and money there. I plan on saving up some spending money so I can have a nice shopping spree at the end of summer.
Got back into reading books! I have missed reading so much and once I start working over the summer I plan on buying books regularly. I want to start doing book reviews and get back into reading a few books a week.
Started taking better care of myself by exercising more, drinking more water, eating less and sleeping more. By sleeping more I don’t mean oversleeping, I mean getting enough sleep because insomnia has been a constant problem in my life. I actually went to see a doctor about it back in February with the constant encouragement from my boyfriend. The doctor prescribed melatonin and Tylenol Pm for me and reassured me that it was fine for me to take 3-4 times a week.
Being more organized and trying to enjoy my days more so than trying to do so much all at once. I bought a journal to keep track of my blog and have more control over my ideas instead of keeping drafts open on my blog. I’m getting a planner for work to keep up with events there and then I’m going to be having a weekly to do list to get things done at home.
Special Highlight that occurred today
Being able to see my boyfriend graduate with his Bachelor’s of Arts degree today was BEYOND amazing!!! I can’t even begin to describe everything I felt while waiting to see him walk across stage. I know he’s worked incredibly hard and I couldn’t be prouder. He is going to be a wonderful teacher and do an amazing job with wherever his career leads him. I was so happy and excited for him that I cried during the graduation. I’m crying now as I’m writing this because I am honestly so happy for my boyfriend. It’s just pure bliss seeing someone you love achieve something they worked so hard for especially knowing their journey has not been the easiest. Seeing your significant other achieve their goals is incredible since you’ve been there if not the whole time then most of the time they’ve been working for their achievements. I’m so happy for you love! Congratulations on the beginning of your career!
Let me know how your goals are going and what you’re looking forward to this year!
