Small Steps to becoming a Minimalist Blogmas Day 15

Hi guys! How often do you wish you were more organized and you had less things? Or wish you didn’t have to clean as much? Well you’re in luck, because here are 3 steps that will help you solve all of those problems!

Small Steps to becoming a minimalist

  1. Get rid of stuff you don’t need. If you have too many things than there’s an easy way to fix that and that is to THROW IT AWAY or GIVE IT AWAY! If you need space in your closet, grab a trash bag and put all of the clothes that no longer fit you or you no longer wear. If the clothes are no longer in the best condition, put those in another trash bag and toss it! Why keep it? Just get of expired food, food you won’t eat, clothes you won’t wear, makeup you haven’t used or haven’t finished for over a month. Save yourself some space and time by throwing it away!
  2. Use up everything you have. Next, now that you have a little more space use up everything you have and DO NOT BUY MORE. Use up enough products to create a sufficient amount of space before purchasing new items.
  3. Find multiple uses for one product. For instance, cleaning products can be reduced from having a kitchen cleaner, bathroom cleaner, carpet cleaner to just 3 simple products. Those products being bleach, vinegar and baking soda. Bleach can be used to clean your toilet, shower, kitchen sink and kitchen floors. Baking soda and vinegar can clean your oven completely. Same thing goes for makeup instead of purchasing makeup wipes, find a simple solution such as a nice cloth and use water and soap or a cleanser to remove your makeup. That you you are creating less waste and spending less money.

I wanted to share this with you guys because I’m currently in the process of organizing my apartment and slightly “remodeling it.”  Remodeling in the sense I’m making my apartment look much nicer in a more efficient way by following the three steps I mentioned. Now that I’ve finished college, I’d like to save more of my money, space and time which is why I’ve decided to become a minimalist in certain aspects of my life. I’m definitely planning to buy less things, and use less products so I have less clutter. Less is more and it makes it SOOOO much easier to clean. Plus in the future when you plan to move or have a party, it’ll be so much easier to manage.

Let me know if these tips helped you! Are you a minimalist? If so, what do you recommend?
