Hey guys how are you doing? My main goal for this year is to take care of myself, and I’m starting off by taking better care of my body. I have been going on morning walks for 15-20 minutes during the weekdays. Last week was my first week taking my diet seriously and really working on it. I was watching what I eat and exercising. After the walk, I would go on another walk with my boyfriend and Brody (Our 4-month-old puppy).
Here’s a recap on last week’s journey, I ate fairly well and mostly chicken and veggies. I walked each day for about 40-50 minutes alongside my boyfriend and Brody. I tried on a pair of jeans that used to be fairly tight on me, and they fit a little better. I feel better overall. During the week I wear my fitness watch to measure how many calories I burned and how much exercise I’m getting.
Intermittent Fasting: I get up at about 6:45am and I’m at work at 8am and I don’t have my first actual meal until 12pm-1pm ish. This first week I did pretty well if I couldn’t wait until 12pm or 1pm I would have a little snack like a granola bar, tea, or fruit or something. Once I’ve had my meal I’ll usually have another snack later in the day before I leave my workplace. Then I go home and eat dinner and I TRY to stop eating by 8pm. Unless I really didn’t eat much, then I’ll go ahead and have something else to eat.
Over the weekend I had my cheat meals and went for about an hour walk on Saturday alongside my boyfriend and Brody again. We didn’t go for a walk or anything on Sunday since we usually do 30 minute walks at a time. We enjoyed our weekend and rested well.
This whole week, I relied on melatonin to sleep, so for this current week, I’m not going to be taking any sleeping aids. I’m hoping the diet and exercise pay off more and help me get a good night sleep on my own. I’m sure they will, I just didn’t do it last week because I didn’t wanna risk it with my insomnia.
Other than that, I’ve been limiting my sugar intake and trying to establish a better daily and weekly routine. I have been getting up at the same time every day and eating at about the same time during the week and going to bed around the same time as well. I know my routine is established because even during the weekend I wake up early now which is good because I have to take Brody out to pee.
My goal is to lose 10lbs by March and hopefully another 5 by May! If you have any tips or recommend any recipes I’d be happy to try them.
